What is a capping machine?

Want to know more about capping and capping machines? We have decades of experience producing accurate and reliable capping.

This page is some brief information on capping machines, but if you would like more information get in touch and we will be happy to help.

What is a capping machine?

A capping machine is essential equipment used to seal containers by applying caps securely. Whether you’re working with bottles, jars, or other types of containers, capping machines ensure consistent and reliable closure. These machines are available in various configurations, including semi-automatic cappers, automatic cappers, inline capping machines and monobloc to suit different production scales and requirements.

Our versatile range includes both semi-automatic and fully automatic capping machines, such as the popular Micro Mono model, which comes in both semi and fully automatic variants. These systems can handle various cap types and container sizes with torque precision and repeatability. All our machines use our own capping head, designed from the ground up to be precise and repeatable.

Whether you’re looking for a cap closure machine for small-scale operations or a high-speed inline capping machine for automated production lines, our solutions are engineered for efficiency, reliability, and adaptability.

Containers & Caps

Our capping machine are unique in the fact we can work with almost any cap, lid, trigger spray on the market. Basically if it closes a container and can be screwed, crimped, pressed or combination of those technologies we can do it. This is due to the proven designed of our MK VI Capping Head and its tailored jaw grippers.

With containers, the only restriction you will face is size, with each machine having a range of maximum sizes to suit each. No need to fret however, across our range we can handle almost all container sizes from 1ml vials to 25ltr jerry cans of almost any construction and shape.

What is a Semi Automatic Capper?

A semi-automatic capper requires operator input into the capping process, this is usually placing the lid onto a container. For example using a CC570 Inline Semi Automatic Capper, the operators would typically stand next to the conveyor before the bottle entry into the capping machine. Bottles would leave a multiheaded filler after being accurately filled, and the operators would intercept the bottles before entry into the capper to place a cap on to the bottles. These would then enter the machine and the cap closure machine would tighten the caps to a predefined torque, the missing cap detection would then stop the machine if cap was missing.

What is a Automatic Capper?

An automatic capping machine has one major difference, it removes the requirement for the cap to be placed on to the bottle by hand. Now the capping machine will do the whole process. There are many different ways in which an automatic variant can pick and place caps onto the container. The more common method is using a vibratory bowl feeder to feed caps into the machine and pickup the machine using out MK VI Torque Head which will then tighten the cap onto the bottle thus sealing cap onto bottles.

The machine can vary in size and complexity, from just simple cap pick and place on models such as our Micro Mono Automatic, to full size Monobloc’s such as the CC1160 Monobloc on which you could have multiple automation stations, machine vision and more.
